Hello friends,
now I’m back at my studies at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany again. Soon I’ll be entering the second year working on my dissertation.
Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of the Germanic department in Seattle. It was a great time in which I not only had the chance to experience the characteristics of the American Ph.D. system, but also made some great new friends and got to know the city of Seattle and all the lovely places surrounding it.
I hope to keep in touch and see you all again sometime.

Carina Bücker (Dipl.-Gyml.) is a Ph.D. student at the RWTH Aachen University where she studied German and Anglo-American literature as well as linguistics. She completed her studies in 2011 with a teaching degree for secondary schools. Currently she is working on her dissertation (“Power and Commerce in Contemporary German Literature”). She was a visiting graduate student in the Germanics department at the University of Washington in Seattle during the fall quarter of 2012.
