Biography

B.A., German, Scandinavian & Dutch, University of Minnesota, 2018
M.A., German Literature and Culture, University of Washington, 2020

I am a second-year graduate student and I will be teaching first-year German courses for the academic year 2019-20. I joined the Department of Germanics in Fall 2018 after completing my BA in German, Scandinavian & Dutch at the University of Minnesota. My research interests are broad yet are almost entirely concerned with what it means to be human in various contexts (these include in the age of globalization and in the Anthropocene). With this in mind, I am interested in the theories and methodologies of ecocriticism, queer studies, and Jewish studies, among others. A large focus of my research is dedicated to German and Austrian writers, though I am also interested in various works from Dutch-, Norwegian-, and English-language writers.
