After receiving his BA from Colby College in 2009 and spending several years teaching English abroad in Austria and Hong Kong, Justin joined the department in 2013. His MA thesis addressed modes of perception, recognition, and tolerance in Lessing's Nathan der Weise. Since being awarded his MA in 2015, he has been working on a project exploring modes of writing about the animal-human divide entitled: "Beastly Specters: from Hubris to Hybridity in German Romanticism and Beyond"

He is currently teaching German 203.
